Bio

Born and raised in Mishawaka, a suburb in Indiana's 3rd largest metro 2 hours outside Chicago, Artemis has quietly emerged one of the areas most well respected trance DJ's, spending the first three years of his career creating a fan base through word of mouth alone.

Noted for his almost obsessive attention to detail, Artemis quickly became known for producing sets so fluid and subtle that it's difficult to keep from losing yourself in them. He firmly believes that his music should provide not just entertainment, but an experience, and should tug on people's emotions in a way that everyday life, in it's predictable monotony can no longer do.

It all started innocently enough with the Wipeout soundtrack, which Artemis came across at the age of 14. He was immediately captivated by this strange but addictive style of music. His interest really started to grow however after being introduced to Oakenfold's "Tranceport" (his first "True" trance album) shortly after at a high school tent party.

Curious as to how it all worked, he enrolled in Electronic Music class as a high school sophomore, where he discovered that a Korg N5, a basic Roland drum pad and a copy of MOTU's "Digital Performer" eventually allowed him to create a plethora of tracks. Though a couple of tracks were polished and completed there, the vast majority remained horribly unfinished by the end of the year. He stayed 3 hours late the last day of school that year burning these track pieces, synth/drum lines and vocal snippets to CD after CD. He realized early that summer that organizing these snippets of audio was more satisfying than he could possibly imagine...more so than creating them in the first place. After realizing Soundforge's obvious limitations in this department, he began to make the move from software to hardware, picking up his first pair of CDJ's from Ebay for a couple hundred dollars. He soon started mixing anything he could get his hands on. The rest is history.

Over the years he has pieced together a modest, but useful mini-studio, an extensive collection of vocal/progressive/melodic trance and house, and has recently begun toying with production...even resurrecting tracks from back in high school which were previously wreaking with sophomoric mediocrity.

With over 25 sets, including multiple live performances and even a few tracks to date, he hopes to continue to promote EDM in scene dry northern Indiana, and encourage all to listen and explore this incredibly unique form of music.
